Oil on canvas 100 x 100 cm.

This is the second painting I made with a snail involved. Didn’t know why, I thought I was just inspired by their beautiful cochlea’s (their house wich they carry with them), because of its beauty and the perfect  devine design . And ofcourse their colours.

But also the fact that the vieuw of  a snail brings people to express disguise . A snail is bullied for decades by humans, just like the redheads who get bullied in school , for no reason at all.

Maybe because they look vulnarable or I really don’t know.

In the meantime people are excited about oysters and pay a lot of money to eat them and for me the are like the snails of the ocean so I find it a very interesting phenomenon.

And what about the thistle in you garden, you can’t wait to get rid of them. In the meantime this is the one who can help you clean up your body after a weekend full of bad habits.

Society fooled us for decades, probably ages. But in this time there will be a light on the lies and foolishness that we ‘ve been feed with.

Consider this: you put airpods in your ear when you think you take a healthy walk in the forest. The frequency you bring to your fragile brain is like a slow weapon! And everybody think this is a normal thing to do . Not hearing the beautiful sounds of the birds in the forest, but listening to music in unhealthy frequencies or podcasts where poeple try to manipulate the way you think .

Because thats what s happening! Better listen to the sound of god given by nature, then you are listening to best frequency for sure!

Did you forget that a cochlea(snails house) is also inside of your ear?

The redheads….. so stupid to bullie someone! Especially when its about a haircolour! And you yes you , most populair guy in the classroom just because you have a big mouth, you can’t believe your eyes right? When you see the hot redhead 20 years later. Just because someone spreaded this fake believes decades ago! Go in your own little house like a snail and feel what your own thoughts are.

Yesterday I bumped into an article about spiritual meanings of a snail and I couldn’t believe my eyes! It describes everything I’ve been “processing”(dont like this word because its so popular this time) the last months/years. Well that makes sense! You can read it here :

Patience & Slowness The snail, a small animal known for its slow and deliberate movement, has captured the human imagination and served as a symbol in various cultures throughout history. From ancient times to modern interpretations, the snail carries a rich tapestry of symbolic meanings. It represents patience, resilience, and the cyclical nature of life, and extends beyond its physical form. One of the most prominent associations with the snail is its connection to patience and slowness. The snail’s leisurely pace reminds us of the virtue of patience in a fast-paced world. It teaches us the value of taking our time and enjoying the journey rather than focusing solely on the destination. In a society that often values speed and instant gratification, the snail’s symbolism encourages us to slow down, be present, and appreciate the small joys along the way. The snail’s ability to carry its home on its back also symbolizes resilience and protection. Its shell serves as a refuge and shield, offering a place to retreat and feel safe. It symbolizes the importance of a solid foundation and a sense of self-worth that can withstand life’s challenges and setbacks. It reminds us to seek inner strength and security, allowing us to navigate the world with confidence and resilience.

The spiral shape of the snail shell has great significance. The spiral is a universal symbol for growth, evolution and the cyclical nature of life. It reflects the golden ratio; the patterns in nature, from the growth rings of trees to the galaxies of the universe. With its perfectly formed spiral, the snail shell represents the never-ending cycle of birth, growth, decay and rebirth. It reminds us that life is a continuous process of change and transformation, and encourages us to embrace the ebb and flow of existence. In some cultures, the snail is associated with femininity and the divine feminine. Its slow and deliberate movement reflects the nurturing and patient qualities traditionally attributed to women. In ancient Greek mythology, the snail was associated with the goddess Aphrodite, the embodiment of love, beauty and fertility. In African folklore, the snail is associated with the moon and its feminine energy. These associations emphasize that the snail symbolizes the feminine aspects of life and emphasises the importance of nurturing, intuition and emotional depth.

Furthermore, the snail’s secretive nature and ability to retreat into its shell have led to interpretations of introversion and introspection. The snail reminds us of the importance of self-reflection, taking time for introspection, and honoring our inner world. It invites us to explore the depths of our thoughts and emotions, to gain insights and wisdom from our deepest selves. Just as the snail retreats into its shell, those who resonate with this symbolism often seek solace and rejuvenation in solitude. In the realm of spirituality, the snail’s symbolism is also profound. The spiral shape of the shell represents the cosmic dance of creation and embodies the interconnectedness of all life. In some Native American traditions, the snail shell is used as a ceremonial instrument, believed to carry the power of the Earth. The snail’s slow pace and connection to the earth serve as a reminder to stay grounded, find harmony with nature, and respect the interconnected web of existence. The snail’s symbolism teaches us the value of slowing down and appreciating the present moment. It encourages us to be patient, knowing that great things often take time and effort. In a world dominated by constant busyness and instant gratification, the snail reminds us to find solace in taking our time and enjoying the journey.
